About Me
I grew up in Western Nebraska in the small town of Sidney, Nebraska (home of former Cabelas). I knew that my career would include art as a little girl. As an only child, I spent my free time drawing and creating. Upon graduation from High School, I had decided that I wanted to become an art teacher. In 2011, I graduated from the University of Nebraska at Kearney with a Bachelor's Degree in Art Education with a K-12 field endorsement. My first teaching job was in Grand Island, Nebraska at WalnutMiddle School teaching 6-8th grade. I taught there for 6 years before making the decision to switch districts to Northwest Public Schools! I will be teaching all 6-8th grade students at Northwest Public Schools. For 12 weeks I will be at each building, Cedar Hollow, St. Libory, and One-R. My class covers the basics of art education, including the art elements and principles, to more advanced practices that help students reflect on their learning and apply it to their daily lives.
